Hey guys! I’m starting a new little series here this month on breastfeeding! I have struggled and worked through so many breastfeeding issues that I thought I would share my experiences! Now I am not a doctor or lactation consultant, so don’t take any of this as expert advise or anything. It’s simply a mom to mom sort of sharing.
Breastfeeding has NEVER come easy for me. I struggled for a long while with my first – I had severe nipple damage, pumped exclusively for a while, got him back on the breast, dealt with mastitis twice, and then ended up breastfeeding for about a year.
With my breastfeeding experience with my second, the damage was not nearly as bad, but this time we’ve still dealt with latch issues, a severe lip tie, mastitis again, over and under supply, and this kid being a huge snacker. I even quit breastfeeding and switched to exclusive pumping 3 days in with this baby. Now here we are 6 months in and while some days are still a struggle, for the most part I’m loving it. There will be a full post on this later!
Hopefully my experiences can help with any struggles you might be going through, and please let me know if you have any questions or anything you want to see in the series!
For now, you can check out these posts I have written in the past about breastfeeding products and the things I wasn’t prepared for with my first!
