A toddler bag is so much different than a baby diaper bag. Well, I guess not so much different just less stuff.
Let’s start with the bag. I’ve talked about this before on here, but my diaper bag for when he was a baby was this beautiful Kate Spade tote bag that was huge and held absolutely everything we could possibly need. Fast forward to him walking and I needed something smaller and that was a backpack so I wasn’t messing with trying to keep a giant bag over my shoulder while chasing and picking up a toddler. I found this one by Leke Baby on Amazon and I love it. It’s got a good amount of pockets and space for all of the things I need, and it’s cute enough to use as my work bag too.
So what’s in it?
I always have the changing pad that came with it and 2 diapers. It’s rare that we would need more than that and if so I do keep more in both cars. Next, a swaddle blanket. This is useful as of course a blanket if it’s cold, something to provide shade from the sun or cover up something hot, wiping up messes in a pinch, or covering up a dirty seat or the ground. I also always carry one or two small toys.
Probably the most important thing is snacks! I always bring a snack cup filled with usually some sort or cereal. I usually also have an applesauce, crackers, and a Lara Bar.
And, last but not least, Mom’s stuff! I just keep keys, sunglasses, phone, a pen, water, and chapstick. Pretty simple because there’s no time for much when we’re out and about!
